Overview
Every press release is reviewed by our editorial team before it goes out, to confirm it is newsworthy, accurate, and written in an acceptable press release format. Sticking to the standards below helps your release move through review quickly and reach our network and partner platforms without delays.
Headlines & Summary
- Keep headlines concise and accurate — ideally under 18 words.
- The headline should clearly reflect what the release is about.
- Name the issuing company or entity in the headline.
- Make sure the news is timely and genuinely newsworthy.
- Use title case, and keep summaries to roughly 45 words or fewer.
- Don't reuse the opening paragraph as your summary.
- Avoid exclamation marks, questions, and special characters.
- Lead with active verbs and a clear subject — and skip promotional or misleading wording.
Press Release Content
- Aim for 300 to 800 words in a formal, neutral tone.
- Focus on a real announcement or legitimate news centered on the issuer.
- Use only authentic quotes, and include accurate contact details, date, and location.
- Limit links to three per release, and make sure each links to meaningful content.
- Include at most one image (under 200 KB); embedded video is not accepted.
- Avoid heavy capitalization, spam-style language, and any markup beyond simple hyperlinks.
